6.1-degree earthquake shakes Haiti


So far no damages or injuries have been reported

Haiti.- An earthquake of 6.1 on the Richter scale shook the night of this Saturday north of Haiti.

According to the United States Geological Survey, the earthquake was of magnitude 6.1, with an epicenter in the north of Haiti. It had a depth of 10 kilometers and it happened at 8:11 at night.

The geologist Osiris de León affirmed that the epicenter of the strong earthquake was registered in Tortuga Island, in the north of Haiti.

The movement was felt in several points of the Dominican Republic.

The Civil Defense of Santiago reported that so far has not reported any fact in structures.

Through social networks several users have reported that the tremor was felt in Mao, Dajabón, San Cristóbal, Santiago, the National District, Puerto Plata and Azua, among others.

Strong earthquake is felt in the northern part of the country .................
